Deniz Akyurek is a Turkish-American writer/director/editor based in LA. His work explores personal themes through genre-blending visual storytelling.

His short film MY CHILD premiered at Fantasia and was nominated for an ASC Heritage Award before releasing on Crypt TV and Film Shortage. His dark-comedy short IT’S OK, JOHNNY screened at HollyShorts and was featured on Omeleto. His documentary Projectionist was broadcast on PBS.

Deniz graduated from Emerson College’s BFA Film Program before studying directing at the AFI Conservatory.
